Injury boost for PSG as Mbappe resumes training

Paris Saint Germain have been handed a major injury boost with Kylian Mbappe resuming training ahead of the club's trip to Nice on Friday 18th.

Mbappe didn't feature for France in the Euro 2020 qualifying doubleheader against Iceland and Turkey as the PSG forward was suffering from a hamstring injury. PSG head coach Thomas Tuchel hopes to welcome the Frenchman back after revealing he is in contention to face Nice. This comes as good news to the French Ligue 1 giants who are without their star Neymar as the Brazilian faces four weeks on the sidelines after an MRI confirmed a thigh muscle tear.

"Kylian Mbappe is training normally. I am happy that we reached an agreement with the France national team because he couldn't play," he said ahead of Friday's match.

"On Monday he trained by himself to keep coming back. He couldn't have played against Turkey. He now has a full week training under his belt, but that's different, training with a small group of players, compared to a high-intensity match of football."

"You can't play when you're only 80 percent, you need to be 100 percent for these types of matches."

"Thilo Kehrer, Idrissa Gueye and Neymar Jr are injured and Juan Bernat is suspended. All the other players have been training and are available," Tuchel revealed.

PSG could go five points clear should they register a win at the Allianz Riviera tonight.
