The Uganda Premier League Secretariat has officially confirmed the rescheduling of approximately eight fixtures according to Kawowo reports.
The new adjustments have been made to cater for the matches that were not played as the Uganda national team were preparing for their international friend against Kenya as well as KCCA's partaking in the Caf Confederation Cup.
“The UPL Secretariat postponed Maroons FC vs KCCA FC; Vipers SC vs BUL FC; Onduparaka FC vs Vipers SC and Kyetume FC vs Proline FC to allow the Uganda Cranes travel for the International friendly match with Kenya and CHAN preparation….,” read part of the statement by CEO Bernard Bainamani.
The above matches have been rescheduled as follows:
22nd October 2019
- Maroons FC vs KCCA FC, Luzira Prisons Grounds (4:30 PM)
- Vipers SC vs BUL FC, St. Mary’s Stadium (4:00 PM)
- Kyetume FC vs Proline FC, Mandela National Stadium (4:30 PM)
26th October 2019
- Onduparaka FC vs Vipers SC, Green Light Stadium (3:00 PM).
Meanwhile, KCCA FC will be playing at home in the first leg of the Caf Confederation Cup on the October 27 and away on November 3 in the second leg of the tournament.
The following matches have been postponed to allow KCCA FC time to prepare for their match.
- Mbarara City FC vs KCCA FC
- KCCA FC vs SC Villa
- Proline FC vs KCCA FC.
Relatedly with the above postponements, the following fixtures have been adjusted.
The SC Villa vs URA FC match that was set for Tuesday, October 29 has been rescheduled and will be played on Friday, November 1 at the Mandela National Stadium-Namboole at 4:00 PM.
The Kyetume FC vs Vipers SC fixture that was scheduled for Wednesday, October 30 will now be played on Tuesday, October 29 at the Mandela National Stadium-Namboole at 4:00 PM.
The Uganda Premier League is currently on a break as the preparations for the CHAN 2020 qualifiers match against Burundi are underway.
