Mathare United midfielder Tyson Otieno is wary of struggling Kisumu All-Stars ahead of their week six Kenyan Premier League faceoff.
All-Stars is yet to win a game in their debut season in the KPL and despite their struggles, Otieno believes that they should not be underrated going by the quality in the team and by the fact that they are playing at home.
“All-Stars are struggling due to off-pitch issues but not lack of quality. They are playing at home and are also looking for their first win of the season, this will give them extra motivation. We have prepared adequately and we will focus on ourselves and not what All-Stars are going through on and off the pitch,” the midfielder is quoted by the club’s portal.
This will be the first meeting between Mathare and All-Stars in history and after a two-week rest, Otieno whose side is yet to lose a game this season despite picking only one win has urged his teammates to do better.
“We have played five matches and have managed only one win. That simply isn’t good enough. We need to go on a positive run by stringing up a couple of wins and hopefully we will do that tomorrow,” he added.
The match is slated to kick off at 3 pm EAT at Moi Stadium-Kisumu.
