Former Chipolopolo coach Patrick Phiri has a brand new coaching gig at Lumwana Radiants.

Known as ‘Big Pa’ the experienced gaffer is believed to have been appointed by the struggling Radiants for the rest of the Super League term.

The former Lusaka Dynamos coach comes in place of Chewe Mulenga who departed the job after last weekend.

“Lumwana Radiants have appointed former Zambia national team head coach Patrick ‘Big Pa’ Phiri as their new head coach the ZamFoot Crew understands,” wrote ZamFoot.

The source further confirmed that Phiri had already met his squad on Monday before taking his first training session.

“The former Nakambala Leopards boss was introduced to the players on Monday morning a source close to the club told the ZamFoot Crew.”

The 63-year-old trainer takes over from Chewe Mulenga who has fired a few days ago. Phiri last coached Lusaka dynamos before leaving them towards the end of the 2019 transitional Superleague.

Phiri’s debut as as near as Thursday. Radiants will take on Buildcon from the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
