Tuesday nights mean PSL football and this evening sees nine clubs who all have the quality to get all three points this evening - and such is the Absa Premiership.
To build-up to the 19:30 kick-offs, Futaa takes a shot at predicting which teams will emerge as winners and why so. And we have some prolific goalscorers as a Bradley Grobler, Tshegofatso Mabasa and Jeremy Brockie looking for his first at his new club.
We will be intrigued and entertained with some action from three different cities. Orlando Pirates will be at home in Soweto, while Bloemfontein Celtic will play hosts in the City of Roses as well as SuperSport United taking their home game to Nelspruit.
☠️🔵 Pirates vs Maritzburg United
Coach Rhulani Mokwena of Pirates is carrying plenty of pressure on his shoulders. The 43-year-old has two losses in the last three games. The side have scored three goals in three matches while conceding as many goals. Visitors Maritzburg are talking a different language. Eric Tinkler’s side are one of the league’s form sides. The Team of Choice are on five wins on the bounce. The defence has conceded just two goals while the attack has delivered five goals in the bright five-match streak.
- Our prediction: Pirates 2-3 Maritzburg.
☘️🦁 Celtic vs Highlands Park
Hosts Phunya Sele Sele have not won a football game in four takes. The run has included two 1-0 losses and two stalemates. Celtic’s issue lies with not scoring goals with only one in four matches. On the opposite side in red this evening, we have a team that Tinkler accurately described as the hardest-working side in the league. Owen Da Gama’s fourth-placed side have allowed 1-0 losses against the league’s most highest-scoring sides like SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns.
- Our prediction: Celtic 0-2 Park.
🔵🐎 SuperSport vs Golden Arrows
Kaitano Tembo’s SuperSport have played 15 games in all competitions and were only beaten thrice. One of those losses was against tonight’s opposition Arrows in the cup last weekend. In Steve Komphela’s team we also see a team with three wins on the trot. Abafana Bes’thende scored four times while letting in only two goals in the series.
- Our prediction: SuperSport 4-2 Arrows.
