Gor Mahia held Al Hilal Benghazi to a 1-1 draw in a friendly match staged at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium on Saturday 16th November.
Despite the good start by Gor Mahia, it was Al Hilal who opened the scoring in the sixth minute when Oussama Belaid broke the offside trap but his first effort was saved by Boniface Olouch in goal as he made amends with his second shot that found the back of the net.
Gor Mahia restored parity in the 39th minute when Nicholas Kipkirui's heavy touch fell to Samuel Onyango who hit a first time shot that somehow escaped the clutches of the goalkeeper to go in.
There was a lapse in concentration from Boniface Oluoch who collected Joachim Olouch's back pass with the referee awarding an indirect free-kick but the set-piece was fired straight into the wall.
The second half was a relatively quiet affair as Francis Afriye came close to putting Gor Mahia ahead in the 71st minute after Alphonse Ombija cut the ball back to the Ghanaian but Gislein Yikpe got in his way as he missed his shot.
Gor Mahia will return to the country ahead of their Kenyan Premier League clash against Kakamega Homeboyz on Thursday 21st November.
