Comoros played host to Egypt at the Malouzini Stadium on Monday where both sides played to a 0-0 stalemate.
The hosts certainly put on an impressive display especially in the defence as they kept the 7-time African champions who struggled to make any decent chances at goal.
The Pharoahs head coach introduced three major changes to the starting lineup: Hani, Ashraf and Zizo instead of Ahmed Fathi, Abdalla Gomaa and Hussein El-Shahat respectively.
The game initially starting with a good pace and both sides were showing their equally strong sides, mostly Egypt taking the possession.
In the 8th minute, Egypt had a real chance at goal through Kahraba but it wasn't meant to be as the ball hit the bar.
In the 11th minute, the visitors had a chance again after being awarded a freekick and Trezeguet shot a powerful strike but a Comoros defender was there to clear the ball in time.
A chance for Comoros, in the 18th minute but Egypt's keeper Shenawi is on and easily saved the ball.T
The match was suspended after a collision between Egypt's Tarek Hamed and Comoros player Youssouf M'Changama.
In the second half, the dynamic of the game changed as Egypt changed their strategy with Kahraba playing as a winger as Trezeguet went on to lead the attack alongside El-Shahat.
In the 65th minute, El-Shahat delivered a quality pass to Trezeguet but he was unable to convert his chances in the area. It just didn't see to work for The Pharoahs.
An interesting day at the office for both sides but Comoros managed to hold Egypt at home and still main the lead in their group after the secured a 1-0 victory over Togo.
