๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ”ฅ Local football returns: Hereโ€™s what is happening in SA this weekend

Absa Premiership football is back after a two-week international break. Futaa looks ahead to the coming weekend action.

The last local action we had feels ages ago. It was on 10 November in Durban when Golden Arrows shocked Mamelodi Sundowns. It was that Abafana Bes'thende's thrilling 3-2 win in the pouring rain. 48 hours before that game had seen a Soweto derby for the ages.

Kaizer Chiefs defeated Orlando Pirates 3-2 at FNB. Vincent Pule and Gabadinho Mhango both scored gorgeous goals. But that was all Absa Premiership football and unfortunately for Pirates fans, this weekend belongs to the Telkom Knockout where only four teams remain.

Only Chiefs, Sundowns, Arrows and Maritzburg United will be back this weekend while the other 12 PSL clubs will wait for next week.

Full weekend TKO fixtures:

  • Arrows vs Sundowns: Saturday at 15:00
  • Chiefs vs Maritzburg: Sunday at 15:00.

Arrows will host Sundowns at Sugar Ray Xulu while Chiefs will take Maritzburg to Nelspruit.
