Chelsea will have to wait for longer for the return of Ruben Loftus-Cheek from injury after the young midfielder suffered yet another setback.
The Englishman suffered a ruptured Achilles' tendon in May during a friendly much against New England Revolution and has since been in recovery mode with his return date now unknown.
It was expected that he would be back by October, at the very least, but according to Lampard, the 23-year-old's efforts to get back have been hit time and again.
"He has had a few setbacks over the last two months. He hasn’t had a new one. It is not flying along as we would want. It’s not for the want of trying for everybody,"
"For Ruben there is nothing worse, of course, being injured. At the moment we are no closer to him being fit."
Loftus-Cheek's teammate Callum Hudson-Odoi suffered a similar injury early in the year, but he is back and in action for the Blues.
When asked on whether there's a timescale for his return, the former midfielder simply replied; "No, no."
The Blues were back to winning ways on Wednesday night following two consecutive losses, and Lampard was impressed by their response.
"I am happy but I want more," Lampard added. "We have had a pretty good start because most people probably expected us otherwise. But I want more all the time and I think that the last week has been a good example of that for us,"
Their attention will now shift to Saturday's match away to Everton, who lost 5-2 in the Merseyside Derby against Liverpool.
