Bournemouth 0-3 Liverpool: The Reds momentarily open up an 11 point gap at the summit

Liverpool opened up an 11 point gap at the summit of the Premier League table following a 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday, December 7.

Chamberlain scored his first league goal in almost two years before Keita doubled Liverpool's lead in the first half with Mohamed Salah scoring in the second half.

Chamberlain goal

Following a quiet start to the game, Liverpool finally opened the scoring through Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after a long ball over the top from Henderson which Ramsdale should have claimed gave Chamberlain the chance to steal in and prod it underneath the goalkeeper.

Keita goal

Liverpool doubled their lead a minute before half time when Keita started the move deep and continued to work forward to lay the ball into Salah who back-heeled it stunningly and Keita made no mistake with his finish from the outside of his foot.

Salah goal

Salah and Keita were combining well in the game and their partnership came into play again in the 54th minute when a stunning pass from Keita found Salah through the middle and the Egyptian calmly rolled the ball into the bottom corner.

The win fastens Liverpool's grip at the summit of the log with 11 points as Leicester City face Aston Villa on Sunday, December 7, while Bournemouth slip to 15th on the log with 16 points from 16 games.

Next assignments

Liverpool next face FC Salzburg in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, December 10 while Bournemouth will look to pick themselves up against Chelsea on Saturday, December 14.
