Bayern 3-1 Tottenham: Munich finish group stages with 100% record

Bayern Munich has advanced to the round of 16 of the Champions League after emerging the winners of Group B following a 3-1 win over Tottenham.

Spurs have lost their final group game but as we already knew, the Premier League side head into the UCL last 16 in second place. Kingsley Coman opened the scoring for Munich before youngster Ryan Sessegnon leveled the scores for Spurs. Thomas Muller restored Munich's lead just before half time with Phillipe Coutinho netting the third in the second half.

Coman goal

Munich opened the scoring in the 14th minute, a well-deserved lead thanks to Kingsley Coman's strike. Gnabry was the architect, cutting in off the right and playing a pass inside towards Coutinho which deflected out to Kingsley Coman on the left of the box, and he calmly opened up his body before slotting past Gazzaniga.

Sessegnon goal

Spurs responded in the 20th minute. Bayern's lead lasted just six minutes as an intricate passing move involving Eriksen, Dier and Lo Celso ended with Ryan Sessegnon receiving the ball on the left. The 19-year-old, on his first start for Spurs and first in the Champions League, marked the occasion with a superb finish, rifling the ball home at Neuer's near post to haul Spurs level.

Muller goal

A poacher's goal from Thomas Muller restored Bayern Munich's lead on the stroke of half-time. Gnabry was front and centre once again, driving into the Spurs box, playing a one-two a drilling a cross to the back post which fell for Davies at the back post. The left-back rattled a shot against the post but the rebound fell for Muller, who simply doesn't miss from these positions and slotted his 198th Bayern goal home.

Coutinho goal

Philippe Coutinho had been searching for a goal all evening and he finally got his reward. Spurs failed to heed the previous warnings and allowed Coutinho to cut inside onto his right foot, and it was curtains from there as he drilled a low effort past the outstretched Gazzaniga.

Europa League

Olympiacos drops to the Europa League after finishing third in the group while FK Crvena Zvezda is dumped out of the tournament.
