Former Baroka FC coach Wedson Nyirenda has shown warm gratitude to his ex-boss while also revealing the reasons for moving on with his future.
According to local media , Nyirenda’s resignation was not sorely based on the club’s poor results - instead it is believed that the management interfered with the Zambian coach’s team decisions.
“That man (Khurishi Mphahlele) is amazing and I would say that a lot of people maybe did not understand him. I have even stayed (at the team house) longer after resigning because we understand each other very well,” Nyirenda told FarPost.
“I tolerated him and he tolerated me, we differed in principles but not in person so he is a good chairman and he loved me a lot, honestly he just said from the first day I came he said ‘I don’t know why but from first sight I just loved you’ so from that time I think the relationship has become so huge.
“He is my family now and when I resigned he was a sad man but he said, ‘Wedson I understand where you are coming from so it is well’. So I will miss Mr Mphahlele and I will miss Baroka,” added the former Chipolopolo coach.
Meanwhile, Nyirenda is one of the candidates linked with the vacant Zambia head coaching job - including several other offers in the Zamabia Super League.
