In their bid to revamp the midfield, Manchester United has offered English Championship side Birmingham City a sum of £30m for the services of Jude Bellingham.
Sky Sports reports that United are doing all they can to snap up the 16-year-old midfielder who is believed to be on the radar of some of the best teams in Europe.
Sky Sports News reported on Monday that United was willing to pay £25m for the teenager but the fee has been increased due to Birmingham’s laxity in losing one of their most prized assets.
Another reason why Birmingham is playing hard games with the player is the fact that they are looking for proper funds having been docked nine points last season for breaking profit and sustainability rules.
Bellingham remains on £145-per-week scholar's wages, although he will be set to sign a lucrative first professional contract when he turns 17 on June 29.
The player became the youngest player for the club in August when he represented his team in their EFL Cup tie against Portsmouth aged 16 years and 38 days.
Apart from United, the box-to-box midfielder has also attracted interest from Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool after shining in his 25 appearances for his team this season despite his age.
