Round 18 of the Kenyan Premier League serves up some interesting clashes as Tusker welcome Ulinzi Stars while Gor Mahia face Bandari.
Gor Mahia vs Bandari
This will be the first game in charge for Twahir Muhidin after taking over the reins from Bernard Mwalala who was sacked a fortnight ago.
Muhidin will have to get his hands dirty as he has to halt a run of two straight losses and comes up against an opponent they have not beaten in the league since 2018.
Gor Mahia fans will hope to see new signing Juma Balinya who will be hungry to get off the mark after seeing Gislein Yikpe score for Young African (Yanga) during the week.
Steven Polack's side have the meanest defense in the league having let in only eight goals all season but will be tested against some of the best attackers in the league.
Kariobangi Sharks vs Kakamega Homeboyz
Sharks are having a season to forget and are currently on relegation form having won just two games all season which has left them with 13 points from 17 games.
William Muluya will have to solve Sharks' poor goal scoring stat, having just netted 17 times this season but will hope Derrick Onyango will be the solution after joining from Wazito.
Homeboyz are having a season to remember and are real title contenders this season, sitting just one point off log leaders Tusker.
They come into the clash on a three-game winning streak that includes a win over reigning champions Gor Mahia last time out.
Kisumu All Stars vs AFC Leopards
All Stars are on an abysmal streak having lost their last eight games but they can find solace having navigated a tricky run of fixtures that included Gor Mahia, Sofapaka, Bandari, Tusker, and AFC Leopards.
Otenga's Achilles heel has been their lack of goals, they are the league's joint-lowest scorers alongside Chemelil who have forfeited two games already.
The financial woes surrounding AFC Leopards seem not to be affecting them on the pitch as they currently have an identical record to Gor Mahia in the last five games.
Leopards will also come into the clash brimming with confidence after their win over Wazito and beat All Stars 1-0 in the reverse fixture.
Tusker vs Ulinzi
Ulinzi have the longest unbeaten run in the league having gone 14 games without a loss and currently also have the longest winning streak of four games.
The Soldiers have only lost one game all season and seem to have retained their former glory that saw them win the title back in 2010.
Tusker currently sit at the summit of the log standings but will face a stern test when they welcome Ulinzi as they have only won one of their last seven games against Ulinzi.
Robert Matano will be coming up against his former side and will hope his free-scoring side can continue with their goal hunt against Ulinzi.
