Manchester United is in talks with former Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Antero Henrique regarding the same position at the club.
Reports from French Outlet Foot Mercato reported that talks between United and Henrique were at an advanced stage with the club having flirted with the concept of a sporting director or director of football for some time.
Should he be appointed, Henrique comes with a bag of experience in the field having been PSG’s sporting director for two years until the start of this season when he was dismissed by the French champions and replaced by former coach Leonardo.
He has formerly worked with Portuguese giants FC Porto in a similar capacity and was instrumental when PSG brought both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in the summer of 2017.
His position at the club was threatened when PSG lost Dutch starlet Frenkie de Jong to Barcelona with the French giants having been convinced that they were in a better position to land the player.
