On Sunday, PSG hammered Montpellier 5-0 and with this being PSG’s ninth game in four weeks, manager Thomas tuchel decided to take Kylian Mbappe off.
This however, did not sit well with the player.
As he walked to the bench clearly frustrated, he tried to bypass Tuchel. The manager stopped him and tried to reason with him, and they engaged in some debate.
Mbappe then walked away, muttering to himself and dismissively waving his hand over his shoulder at Tuchel.
His teammate Di Maria however, thinks the young talent should have handled the situation better.
Speaking to Canal Plus after the game, the Argentina international said: "It is very difficult, nobody wanted to go off, everyone wants to play, that's normal.
"Kylian [Mbappe] wants to score, but the manager decided that he was to come off, there are boys on the bench who want to come on and have the ability, he needs to get that."
Mbappe has 14 Ligue 1 goals this season from 16 appearances, with only Wissam Ben Yedder managing more, while his team sits 12 points clear of their closest rivals Marseille with 16 matches to play.
