Former Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott has warned Aston Villa ace, Jack Grealish, over switching to Manchester United.
Grealish has been linked with a move to United as the Red Devils are eyeing a £70million summer deal for the England international. However, Lescott has told the 24-year-old there is no guarantee he will be able to realize his Champions League ambitions if he leaves Villa for the Red Devils.
According to reports, Grealish is interested in signing for United having told his friends he wants a move to the Old Trafford. Lescott is aware of the club's struggles under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and he believes a move does have its problem.
"When you look at the spectrum of teams, Manchester United are still a big club but in terms of Grealish’s ability, if he leaves Aston Villa he’s going to want to play Champions League and that’s not guaranteed at United, even in the future," he said.
"I would love to see him test himself in the highest level because I think he’s capable of playing at real heights"
"He’s proven that he can really perform in a team that’s been struggling this season. In terms of if he was going to move to United, it would obviously be a great move for him because it is Manchester United. But, in terms of how he can test himself against the very best, is he going to be able to do that at United as they’re not guaranteed Champions League football?"
Grealish, who has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid and Barcelona recently signed a contract with Villa that contains a release clause that allows him to leave the club next summer for £45 million.
