The Egyptian Football Federation (EFA) on Monday announced that the annual Egypt Super Cup will be handled by Norwegian referees to be played on February 20 in the United Arab Emirates.
Norwegian top referee Sven Oddvar Moen will be tasked with handling this fiery encounter pitting Egypt Premier League champions Ahly and Egypt Cup winners Zamalek. Moen will be assisted by compatriots Magnus Lundberg, Kim Thomas Haglund and Tore Hansen.
At the same time, EFA unveiled the ball that will be used on the day. The specially made match ball has been manufactured by giant sports equipment firm, Puma.
Zamalek will be back in the Gulf less than a week after they beat Esperance from Tunisia in Doha, Qatar to lift their fifth African Super Cup.
Egyptian FA has decided to stage this Cairo derby in the neutral ground and away from Egypt to allow for maximum attendance as well as for safety reasons.
