In an official statement on the club's website, Chelsea FC has confirmed that a 'large group' of Man United fans will be banned from visiting Stamford Bridge in future matches due to their homophobic chants during United's 2-0 win on Monday evening.
"At last night's match a large group of Manchester United supporters made unacceptable homophobic chants," the statement said.
"This behavior will not be tolerated at Chelsea.
"Those supporters will be banned from attending matches at Stamford Bridge in future, and in cooperation with Manchester United we have passed the details of those supporters to them so they can take appropriate action."
In another statement, Manchester United said that in as much as they appreciate the fans' loyalty and support, the chants go against their values and the equality they are after in the game.
Goals from Anthony Martial and Harry Maguire ensured three points for the Red Devils, who are now three points off Chelsea on the log.
