Kakamega Homeboyz head coach Nicholas Muyoti expected a tough duel against Chemelil Sugar FC in their Sunday game at the Bukhungu Grounds but that wasn’t the case.
Chemelil came into the game on a back of three unbeaten games and according to Muyoti, they didn’t expect an easy ride against a team struggling to escape relegation; the tactician choosing to laud his players and defence for taking their chances and keeping a clean sheet in the game.
“We played well in the game. We expected a tough game against them due to their recent results but thank God it didn’t happen that way. I have to laud my boys for taking almost all the chances we got. I have to laud the defence too because we didn’t concede today so it’s a good result going forward,” Muyoti said.
The was a welcomed boost for Muyoti who drew their last two games; a streak that had threatened their season as they seek to push Gor Mahia to the wire in the race to the title.
Muyoti knows well that he can't rest on his laurels with Tusker FC-who have played a game less than them- breathing on their neck and Gor winning their weekend game against Zoo FC.
Next for them is a tie against Nzoia Sugar at their Bukhungu backyard.
