Jose Mourinho tactics against Chelsea slammed by former Tottenham Hotspur boss

Tottenham Hotspur went down 2-1 to Chelsea over the weekend and their former boss Tim Sherwood has had not nice words for manager Jose Mourinho.

Sherwood described Mourinho’s tactics in the game as "absolutely disgusting" and accused him of throwing the towel in against Chelsea.

After the game, Mourinho claimed that the lack of players like Son Heung-min and Harry Kane has left them short and Sherwood couldn’t hear any of that as he said the Portuguese points after the tie were excuses.

Speaking to Premier League Productions. Sherwood said: "Tottenham were absolutely disgusting.

"They were so bad. The negative approach. Yes, they have injuries to Son and to Kane, Mourinho keeps reminding us of that. But they’ve got (Steven) Bergwijn there who can run in behind, they’ve got (Lucas) Moura who has pace.

"If they’ve got anything they’ve got pace. They both got 15 goals last season which is not the end of the world."

"You have to find a different way. As a coach sometimes you can’t say 'oh we don’t have a striker' and throw the towel in. If you said to Jose beforehand: 'Would you take a 0-0?' he would have taken your arms off.

"It’s not about that, it’s a London derby! It’s for all of those fans, you need to show more of attacking intent."

The loss dented Spurs chances of making it to the top four but the club is still in the FA Cup and is not out of the Champions League yet, despite last Wednesday's last-16 first-leg loss to RB Leipzig.
