During his stint at Manchester United after replacing Loius van Gaal in 2016, Portuguese Jose Mourinho sold a total of 15 players.
But how have those players faired in their new clubs?
Victor Valdes (Retired)
Valdes spent the 2016-17 season at Middlesbrough and retired at the end of that campaign.
Sam Johnstone (West Brom)
After a series of loan stints, Johnstone made a permanent move to West Brom in 2018 and has been one of the best keepers in the Championship as they try to push for a promotion to the Premier League.
Nick Powell (Stoke City)
After the hype with Crewe, Powell joined United under Sir. Alex Ferguson and was constantly sent out on loan deals. He left the club permanently in Mourinho’s first season for Wigan Athletic. He currently features Stoke City and has been a regular figure for them.
Tyler Blackett (Reading)
One of the youngsters promoted by manager Van Gaal from the club’s academy. Left the club in 2016 for Reading where he has been since.
Will Keane (Ipswich)
After a series of injuries plagued his career, Keane joined Hull in 2016 but moved to Ipswich on a permanent deal this season after spending his time there on a loan deal last season.
Memphis Depay (Lyon)
One of the most successful stories after leaving United. Mourinho offloaded the Dutchman to Lyon in January 2017 and that is where he remains.
Paddy McNair (Middlesbrough)
Another player who was promoted from the club’s academy at the start of Louis van Gaal's first season. He was offloaded soon after Mourinho arrived with Sunderland paying almost £5million for him. He left Sunderland in 2018 for Boro.
Bastian Schweinsteiger (Retired)
Schweinsteiger left United in March 2017 to join Chicago Fire, where he remained until his retirement last year.
Morgan Schneiderlin (Everton)
Schneiderlin was exceptional for Southampton during the 2014-15 season but failed to live to the billing at United with Mourinho offloading him to Everton for more than £20million for him.
Adnan Januzaj (Real Sociedad)
Januzaj's breakthrough was one of the only good things to come out of David Moyes' doomed season in charge but he never kicked on from that encouraging start to his career. United sold him to Real Sociedad in the summer of 2017.
Wayne Rooney (Derby County)
Rooney left United for Everton in 2017 and he joined D.C. United a year later before returning to England with Derby at the start of 2020.
Guillermo Varela (FC Copenhagen)
Varela left United for Penarol in August 2017 and is now at FC Copenhagen.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan (AS Roma on loan from Arsenal)
Will be remembered for the swap deal with Alexis Sanchez. Both have been awful for their respective clubs with the Armenian being loaned to Italy at the start of the season.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (AC Milan)
United got one outstanding season out of Ibrahimovic as he helped them win the Carabao Cup and the Europa League in 2017. He left United to join LA Galaxy in March 2018 and he is now at AC Milan.
Daley Blind (Ajax)
One of Van Gaal's better signings was sold by Mourinho to Ajax in 2018 where he remains to date.
