English Premier League side Arsenal is close to extending the loan deal of midfielder Dani Ceballos which is slated to end on June 30.
The Spanish midfielder is on a season-long loan from Laliga giants Real Madrid but according to the Standard Sport, Arsenal is confident that they will reach a deal with Madrid overextending the players deal.
It is the same situation with players who are loan deals and those that have their contracts ending on the last day of June with Premier League clubs set to meet early next month to discuss several options on the same.
Player contracts either expire on June 30 or roll on to the 2020-21 season and both administrators and clubs are assessing the legal ramifications of the campaign continuing past that date.
Arsenal is understood to be relaxed about the situation and even though no formal negotiations have started, they are confident that his parent club won’t oppose an extension with a permanent deal in the summer also being muted.
The 23-year old had a good start to the season under Unai Emery but a hamstring problem that derailed his season before picking up under Mikel Arteta who spoke glowingly about the midfielder before the league was put on a hold.
