The reason behind Andre Ayew's exit from West Ham during David Moyes' spell

Three players including Andre Ayew were the only ones to leave London Stadium during David Moyes' first stint at the club during the 2017/18 season, Football Ghana revealed.

Jordan Hugill, Joao Mario and Patrice Evra were brought in to replace Diafra Sakho, Jose Fonte and Ayew - the two have since left West Ham while Hugill was shipped out on loan to Queens Park Rangers earlier in the season.

Moyes managed to help The Hammers to avoid relegation that season after he took over from Slaven Bilic, however it wasn't enough for the side and the club brought in Argentinian tactician Manuel Pellegrini to bring some much-needed change.

The Scottish boss is now back at the club on his second stint after Pellegrini was shown the door after he managed two wins from 12 matches between September and December 2019.

Moyes gave Ayew the green light to return to Swansea City but at a lesser fee than what he was originally bought for - he was the club's record signing after they splurged £25m for his signature.

Several reports claim that Moyes was not a fan of the Ghanian's playing style and told the club's management that he won't be guaranteed of regular game time.

The 30-year-old was eventually loaned out to Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce in the summer of 2018, where he managed to score five goals from 29 matches.

It seems he has had better fortune with Swansea City where he has played a key role for the team - he has scored 12 goals, provided five assists in 35 appearances this season.
