Manchester United iconic striker Andy Cole says Ighalo has managed to score early despite not being fully fit.
Cole earned his legend at United after delivering 93 goals in 195 appearances and therefore knows all about what it takes to be a United number nine.
“I am really pleased with him. When you come to a club like Manchester United as a center forward, everyone expects you to score straight away, but it takes a little bit of time,” Cole said via United's Youtube Channel.
“And like Odion said himself, he wasn’t fit and was just coming in from pre-season in China, so he's coming in.
The former England international further implied that the 30-year-old Ighalo has done enough to earn a contract extension when his loan deal ends in June.
“I think he has done pretty well when he has been given the opportunity, he has applied himself really well in the club and has scored four good goals, four center-forward goals, you can’t ask for much more,” Cole concluded.
