Former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, believes the club do not need to pay for Odion Ighalo’s financial rating.
The Lagos-born striker proved his quality in a United jersey with four goals in his first eight games, before the run was interrupted by the COVID-19 outbreak.
Ighalo is on loan from China’s Shanghai Shenhua, who are willing to let the 30-year-old striker go for a £20m valuation.
"Is Ighalo worth £20m? Probably not in this market. He may have been if he continued before scoring goals but you probably don’t need now to spend £20m,” Neville said in live chat on Instagram.
Meanwhile, as reported here on Futaa a couple of months ago, Shanghai moved fast to table Ighalo a lucrative three-year-deal, which he is yet to sign - while United are yet to make any move as the player’s loan deal at Old Trafford ends at the end of this month.
