CAF Champions League giants, TP Mazembe, are Vodacom Ligue 1 champions following the Congolese Association Football Federation (FECOFA)’s decision to end the season.
The FECOFA 2019/20 season has been forced into the decision due to the rapidly growing cases of the Covid-19 outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
For what is an 18th title in the club’s history, Mazembe claim this year’s competition with 53 points from 20 games, while arch-rivals AS Vita take the CAF Champions league spot with a second-place finish of 42 points in 21 games - with Maniema Union and Motema Pembe taking the CAF Confederation Cup places.
Mazembe confirmed the championship via social media this morning.
