Marcus Rashford receives special award for community fundraising

High Sherriff of Greater Manchester United has presented Marcus Rashford with a special award following his recent community fundraising efforts.

Rashford decided to help feed vulnerable children around the UK after most of the schools were closed earlier this week due to coronavirus pandemic. The England international has worked alongside charity FareShare and raised over £20million to help feed vulnerable children around the UK following the closure of most schools earlier this year.

The 22-year-old took it to social media, sharing his award while dedicating it to everyone who has helped raise money in recent weeks.

"Wouldn’t normally share these types of things but this certificate is not just for me, it belongs to you all," Rashford wrote on Twitter along with a picture of the award.

"Each and every one of you that has contributed the few £s you can, you’ve all made a huge difference."
