Timothy Weah's agent Badou Sambague has attempted to explain the striker's injury-plagued stay at Lille.
In an interview with France's GFFN Sambague claims that the injuries that have kept the 20-year-old on the sidelines are as a result of growth spurts.
"I think he is still in the growth phase of his body, getting used to the constant physical demands at this level. Timothy is a very explosive athlete and who has been performing at a very high intensity. Since he still young, his body is still experiencing growth and so naturally at some point, he has had to suffer injuries," he said.
Timothy Weah moved to Lille in summer last year from Paris Saint-Germain and made only three appearances before suffering an injury that kept him out of action for the whole season.
He's currently in the United States undergoing rehabilitation after Ligue 1 was ended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
