Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have revealed why new signing Leroy Sane didn’t post with his number 10 jersey.
Sane completed his move to Bayern on Friday and even though the club confirmed that he had been handed jersey number 10, the player didn’t use it in his official unveiling pics.
According to Bayern, the move was out of respect of Phillippe Coutinho is still with the team on loan from FC Barcelona even though he is expected to leave the club in the summer.
In a tweet, Bayern said: “Out of respect for Phil Coutinho, who will continue to wear no.10 in #B04FCB and the remaining Champions League games in August, Leroy Sane chose not to use the number for his signing pictures.”
Sane left City after managing 39 goals in 135 competitive matches with the Germany international winning the Premier League title twice, the FA Cup, three League Cups and two Community Shields.
He joins Hansi Flick who managed him when he was representing the German U21 national team.
