Serie A Roundup: Inter Milan stumble again as title hopes diminish, Udinese take huge step towards safety

Inter Milan dropped points in the second successive match as they conceded a late equalizer to draw 2-2 away to Verona on Thursday night.

With the Antonio Conte-led side seemingly going for a win, Miguel Veloso scored a screamer from the centre of the pitch four minutes from time to extinguish their slim title hopes.

The draw comes days after they suffered a 2-1 home loss to Bologna, in what has become a familiar sight of failing to kill off games.

The hosts took an early lead through Darko Lazović after he got the better of Milan Škriniar to fire into the net from an almost impossible angle.

Inter then pulled level shortly after the breakthrough Antonio Candreva, who sneaked the ball in after Romelu Lukaku had hit the post with his effort.

Federico Dimarco, who is on loan from Inter, then scored an own goal shortly afterward, turning a Candreva cross into his own net.

The result meant Inter failed to reclaim third spot from Atalanta, who moved above them after they picked a win, their ninth straight victory, against Sampdoria on Wednesday.

Elsewhere, Udinese won 3-0 away to bottom-side SPAL to take a huge stride towards safety.

Rodrigo De Paul, Stefano Okaka and Kevin Lasagna were all on target for Udinese, as they moved to 14th, eight points above the drop zone.
