🪐 Our six top picks this weekend

🪐 Our six top picks this weekend

We're reaching the business end of the domestic football season and that means there are huge scores to settle around Europe.

Here are six matches we won't be missing this weekend including the North London Derby between fierce rivals Tottenham and Arsenal.

⚔️ Sheffield United vs Chelsea

Frank Lampard's Blues now sit third in the table and a win here for Chelsea would almost certainly end Sheffield United's hopes of ending in a Champions League place. Chelsea put a disappointing defeat at West Ham behind them by clocking up wins against Watford and Crystal Palace, with standout displays from USA star Christian Pulisic, the rejuvenated Olivier Giroud and especially the irrepressible Brazilian, Willian. The Blades have beaten Spurs and Wolves, as well as drawn 0-0 with Burnley in between, showing that they're still an incredibly tough side to beat.

🤗 Valladolid vs Barcelona

Barça followed up an entertaining 4-1 win at Villarreal with a more workmanlike 1-0 success over city rivals Espanyol, one which condemned their visitors to relegation and kept them in the LaLiga title race. There's no more room for slip-ups. A visit to the Northwest of Spain means a reunion with Ronaldo, a Barca legend and current club president of Real Valladolid.

🎯 Juventus vs Atalanta

The Old Lady sits seven points clear at the summit of Serie A with seven matches remaining, but Maurizio Sarri will be concerned with their form ahead of this meeting with free-scoring Atalanta and then with Lyon in the Champions Leaue. First things first though, and Juve must quickly dust themselves down after a shock 4-2 defeat to AC Milan after leading 2-0 at the break. Their defence will be put up to the ultimate test here against an Atalanta side that has fired in 85 Serie A goals in 2019-20, that's 18 more than any other side.

😩 Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace

Dean Smith lamented some questionable refereeing in Villa's 3-0 defeat at Villa Park against Man United. They can feel justifiably upset that the VAR upheld referee Jon Moss' decision to award a penalty for an alleged foul by Ezri Konsa on Bruno Fernandes, but none of this changes Villa's current predicament. They're 19th in the table, without a win since January and now in dire need of three points because time is running out. Crystal Palace has become renowned for being a tough side to break down, although their 3-2 defeat at home to Chelsea bucked their usual trend, and Villa boss Smith will be hoping that midfield maverick and skipper Jack Grealish can find the lock to Palace's door. If he can, the Villains might yet be able to plot an escape route. They'll need to be be wary of Wilf Zaha, Roy Hodgson's very own maverick star.

🤺 Tottenham vs Arsenal

There's no love lost between the red and white halves of North London. Amazingly, Jose Mourinho's Tottenham charges failed to register a single shot on target in their recent 0-0 draw against relegation-threatened Bournemouth. Dele Alli has been ruled out for Spurs while Eric Dier is suspended. Young Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah will also miss the special occasion through suspension which should see Alex Lacazette continue in the starting XI. The last two Premier League meetings between these sides have ended in draws; a win for the Gunners would cut Spurs further adrift in the chase for a Europa League place and give Mikel Arteta's side some much-needed bragging rights.

🍦 Napoli vs AC Milan

Recent history suggests that you're in for a wild ride if you tune into a Napoli or AC Milan game. With these entertaining sides facing off against one another this Sunday evening, there's really no other place to be. Milan has won their last two matches, against the Serie A top two Lazio and Juventus, scoring seven goals in the process. Milan can leapfrog their hosts here with a win and attacking football from both sides is all but guaranteed. A Sunday treat to round out the weekend.
