UEFA CL: PSG draw Atalanta as they look to break 'curse' against Italians

Paris Saint-Germain have been drawn against this season's surprise package Atalanta in the Champions League quarter-finals, but the problem with this is, the France outfit has never beaten an Italian side in this competition.

The French champions lost both games in the 1994-95 semi-final against Milan, then drew all four of the group matches with Milan in 2000-01 and Napoli in 2018-19.

This might not be an easy tie for Thomas Tuchel's men though, given that Ligue 1 was suspended in March and did not resume, so the team is completely lacking in match fitness.

PSG will have a Coupe de France Final with Saint-Etienne on July 24 and a Coupe de la Ligue Final with Olympique Lyonnais on July 31, but that’s all.

On the other hand, Atalanta have won all six of their Serie A games since the restart.
