Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez is set to leave Spanish giants FC Barcelona for America’s Major League Soccer (MLS).
With Barcelona said to be going all out for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, 33-year-old Suarez is said to be considering is options with compatriot Nicolas Lodeiro saying in November that the player already had offers in the MLS.
“He wants to come to MLS. Luis always asks me about the league. His dream was to play for Barcelona. He is playing at a great level and he feels comfortable there.
“Sooner or later he’ll come to MLS. Well, hopefully. He likes the league. He always asks me things about it. I wish he can also play for Seattle Sounders, although this may be a more difficult task,” Lodeiro who plays for Seattle Sounders said.
Suarez had revealed earlier that he is open to signing a new deal at Barcelona and was ready to help Martinez should the club consider pricing him away from the Serie A.
Suarez currently has a contract that runs until 2021 and according to the player in a past interview with RAC1, if he can manage 60 per cent of next season's matches, the club will automatically extend the deal until 2022.
