English Premier League side Southampton has completed the signing of defender Mohammed Salisu from Real Valladolid.
Sky Sports reports that Southampton triggered the player’s £10.9m release clause and an official announcement is expected in the coming days with the player expected to sign a four-year deal.
The 21-year-old must be subject to a 14-day quarantine as he is travelling from Spain to the UK with the reports claiming that the Premier League club won’t be signing any centre-back in the current window.
The arrival of Salisu is expected to fill the void left by Maya Yoshida who is to finish out his Saints contract on loan at Sampdoria, while Wesley Hoedt might depart the club this summer after spending the season at Royal Antwerp, who could not afford his option-to-buy.
