Manchester United breezed through to the Europa League last eight after a 2-1 over LASK on Wednesday night.
Though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side didn’t produce their best football, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial's goals ensured a 7-2 aggregate win after the job had been done in the first leg with a 5-0 win.
While the whole team, which was second-string, lacked rhythm, we’ve taken a Nigeria view by assessing Odion Ighalo who got a rare start to impress.
Unfortunately for the Lagos striker, the evening was not really one to remember, with three different publications rating him respective 5, 6 and 6 scores out of 10.
“Odion Ighalo. Largely fed off scraps but spurned a decent opening with a heavy touch. Managed United's first attempt on target. 5,” was the Manchester Evening News’ review.
“Odion Ighalo – 6. Starved of service most of the game and wasted his one chance in the second half,” said The Independent.
“Odion Ighalo - 6. Couldn’t continue his record of scoring on every United start and appeared hindered by his lack of minutes since the restart,” wrote The Express.
Up next is the quarter-final game against Danish giants FC Copenhagen.
