Serie A champions Juventus have parted ways with manager Maurizio Sarri.
Last night’s Champions League exit at the Round of 16 stage to Lyon seemed to be the final straw for a campaign that has been consistently below expectations.
Although Sarri did steer them to a ninth consecutive Scudetto, it was a mighty struggle this season and none of the eye-catching attacking football he was brought in to provide was on display.
In as much as Sarri and Juventus lost in the Italian Supercup and Coppa Italia Finals, being bundled out of the Champions League by a team that finished 7th in the Ligue 1 has been frowned upon by the board.
It’s believed that negotiations have already begun to find his replacement.
