FIFA have released the latest world rankings and Vietnam remains as the highest-ranked national team in Southeast Asia.
Vietnam news agency (VNA) quoting the Nhan dan newspaper also added that Vietnam have gone 20 places clear of Thailand.
The latest Fifa rankings indicate that a lot of changes that happened through international matches at the national team level took place in Europe early this month within the Uefa Nations League.
Thailand dropped one place to 114th in the world, while the Vietnamese side keeps their 94th position with 1,258 points accumualted.
In Asia, Vietnam stands at No. 14, six above Thailand. Japan continues to lead the continent as world No. 28 (1,500 points), followed by world No. 30 Iran (1,489).
The next FIFA ranking is set to be released on October 22, 2020.
