Serie A giants Juventus have confirmed the signing of striker Alvaro Morata on a season-long loan from Atletico Madrid.
A statement from Juve noted on the signing: “There’s nothing more exciting than a homecoming and the return of Alvaro Morata to Turin is a beautiful one at that!
“The Spanish striker’s return to Juventus is now official. The 27-year-old joins on loan from Atletico Madrid, where he has played for the last season and a half. He will be part of this year’s team, with an option for a one-year extension to the loan, plus an option to buy.”
According to the club, Morata re-joins in a deal worth €10m, with an option to buy for €45m also included.
“The agreement further entails:
• The right for Juventus to definitely acquire the player’s registrations rights by the end of the 2020/2021 season for a consideration of € 45 million to be paid in three financial year.
• The right for Juventus to extend the temporary acquisition of the player’s registrations until the end of the 2021/2022 season for consideration of € 10 million;
• The right for Juventus to definitely acquire the player’s registrations rights by the end of the 2021/2022 season for a consideration of € 35 million to be paid in three financial year,” the statement continued.
The 27-year-old spent two years in Turin between 2014 and 2016, scoring 27 goals in 93 appearances with Atleti now expected to announce the arrival of Luis Suarez in the coming days to replace the Spaniard.
