Inter chief rules out a move for N’Golo Kante

Inter Milan chief Piero Ausilio has confirmed that the club won’t be making a move for Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.

It had been reported that Inter were keen on Kante with Chelsea ready to listen for offers for the player but in an interview with DAZN via the Daily Mail, Ausilio said that the Frenchman wasn’t in their plans.

“Kante is an important part of Chelsea, I don't think he will be up for sale. We have eight important central midfielders, we will begin and move forward with them,” he said.

Ausilio, however, confirmed that Inter had a meeting with Tottenham over their target Milan Skriniar but said the club was not prepared to let him go with Diego Godin set to depart the club at the end of the season.

“There were talks with the Tottenham management, but we will reiterate that Skriniar is a confirmed player for us. We are not planning to lose him after Godin,” he added.

Inter boss Antonio Conte was keen in working with Kante again with the pair having won the Premier League together in 2017 but with the arrival of the likes of Arturo Vidal, Inter seems to have quashed any rumours of a reunion.

Kante has started all of Chelsea's three Premier League games and Chelsea would prefer to sell Jorginho ahead of the World Cup winner.
