Manchester United will pay Sporting Lisbon more money for Bruno Fernandes after the player made an appearance against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
Fernandes who scored and assisted Marcus Rashford’s goal made his 25th appearance for United in the game; an appearance that will see United pay an additional €5m for his services.
According to Portuguese newspaper Record, the appearance triggers another €5m clause which sees Sporting Lisbon benefit financially this meaning that the Portuguese giants will now have received a total of €63m from the player’s sale.
Sporting has benefited already when United qualified for the Champions League, with Fernandes’ involvement earning the Portuguese club an additional €30m.
Since his arrival at United in January, Fernandes has scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists and will hope he can continue in the same form when Spurs visit Old Trafford in their next game.
