Burnley target Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan ahead of January transfer window

English Premier League side Burnley are reportedly eyeing a January move for Strasbourg centre-back Mohamed Simakan according to reports.

Burnley failed to sign any of their defensive targets in the recently closed transfer window including that of West Ham United's Craig Dawson due to ongoing squabbles behind the scenes.

According to The Sun, the Clarets could get their chance in the January transfer window and they could potentially sign Simakan who has also been linked with Serie A side AC Milan.

The 20-year-old came through the Strasbourg academy ranks and last season so him progress into the first team where he managed 19 Ligue 1 appearances.

Simakan is set to feature in Strasbourg's match against Lyon on Sunday night.
