Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Ander Herrera has revealed he didn't feel loved at Manchester United that saw him leave the club.
Herrera left United in the summer of 2019 and signed for PSG after he failed to agree to a new contract with the Red Devils. The 31-year-old has admitted he didn't want to leave Old Trafford but he felt he was not shown the love in the summer after his third season.
The Spaniard was speaking to the Telegraph ahead of his side's Champions League clash against his former club United on Tuesday.
"My intention was not to leave the club and I was happy there - as happy as I am now here," Herrera says.
"It was not a secret. I was negotiating for more than one year but I expected more from the board after my third season at the club when I was a player of the year. They didn't come to me that summer, they didn't even call me. And that was very painful for me because I had a feeling that I was giving everything.
"In saying that I have huge respect for Ed Woodward, a huge respect for the board. They have always treated me fantastically."
