Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood placed aside the club rivalry with neighbours Man City to dedicate his Wednesday Champions League goal to player Jeremy Wisten.
17-year-old Wisten who was in the books of Man City was found in his Wythenshawe home on Saturday where he was unresponsive despite paramedics arriving.
The player was released by City in 2019 and Greenwood knew the player well having up against him in a number of youth football games.
After the game, Greenwood took to Twitter to post: "That one was for you bro. RIP Jeremy Wisten."
The England international who has had trouble start to the season due to his off-field woes netted the first goal against RB Leipzig in a 5-0 victory with his replacement Marcus Rashford grabbing a hat trick; Anthony Martial getting the other goal from the spot.
