Croatia captain Domagoj Vida on Wednesday night played the opening half of their friendly match against Turkey with COVID-19 before he was substituted and isolated from the rest of the team.
The 31-year-old led Croatia out in the 3-3 draw, as they prepare for upcoming UEFA Nations League matches.
The entire Croatia team had undergone mandatory COVID-19 tests on Monday, which all returned negative.
Wednesday morning results though came back during half-time, and it turned out positive for the Besiktas defender.
"Vida will, in accordance with regulations, spend the next few days in self-isolation in Istanbul." a statement from the team read.

Vida will now miss Croatia's UEFA Nations League match away to Sweden on Saturday.
