Paul Pogba fit to face Southampton

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba will be fit to face Southampton this weekend.

The Frenchman missed the club’s midweek Champions League tie against Istanbul Basaksehir with an ankle problem with The Daily Mail reporting that the player’s current injury is positioned on the same joint that caused him significant problems at various junctures the last term.

Pogba underwent surgery in January to resolve the long-standing ailment - and United medical staff are being extra cautious with Pogba's current problem as a result.

On Monday, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that the player had suffered inflammation of the troublesome ankle this after representing the French national team last week where he caused a stir when stating that he felt much happier with the national team than his club.

The player, however, is not being ruled out of the Southampton clash but United will not rush him back to action if they feel he isn’t ready to feature as they don’t want to risk him further.
