Maradona’s ‘Hand of God’ shirt to fetch a sum of $2m in auction

Diego Maradona’s shirt he used in their World Cup game against England is expected to fetch up to $2million in an auction.

The Argentine legend passed on this week and has since been laid to rest but his presence is expected to be felt in the coming years with some of his memorabilia expected to go on sale.

One of his memorabilia has been owned by former England international Steve Hodge who has put the Argentine’s ‘Hand of God’ shirt up for sale.

“It’s very difficult to measure (value) with the ‘Hand of God’ shirt, but I know the owner was looking for a $2million private sale. It certainly could be a possibility, values ?? have risen quite a bit in football,” David Amerman of Goldin Auction in New Jersey told Reuters, cited by Mundo Deportivo.

The other things owned by Maradona expected to be cautioned is his Napoli shirt from 1986-87 title-winning season.
