Sad news out of France says ex-Liverpool manager Gérard Houllier has passed away at the age of 73.
The Frenchman delivered five titles for Liverpool between 1988 and 2004, which included the FA Cup, League Cup and Uefa Cup treble in 2000-01.
"We are mourning the passing of our treble-winning manager, Gerard Houllier," Liverpool said in a statement.

Houllier's former clubs also included Lens, Paris St-Germain, French national team, Lyon and Aston Villa.
