Andres Iniesta to miss four months of action after undergoing an operation

Spanish legend Andres Iniesta is set to miss four months of action after undergoing an operation on Tuesday.

According to Dario Sport, the midfielder had a tear in the rectus femoris muscle in his right leg and won’t be available for his Japanese side Vissel Kobe for four months after undergoing a successful operation in Barcelona under Dr Ramon Cugat.

The reports indicate that the World Cup winner flew to Barcelona from Qatar, where he was injured last Thursday in an AFC Champions quarterfinal against Suwon Bluewings and is expected to be discharged from the hospital on Wednesday.

Vissel Kobe is currently 12th in the Japanese league but Iniesta will miss its final stages with the midfielder having been with them since he left Barcelona in 2018.

At Barca, he won nine La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues won two European Championships and scored the winning goal in the 2010 World Cup final with Spain.
