Liverpool duo of Joel Matip and Fabinho is struggling to be fit for their Sunday clash with Manchester United.
Matip has missed the Red's last three games after going down with an abductor injury in the 1-1 draw against West Brom on December 27 and missed the group training on Wednesday with the clash just three days away at Anfield.
The Liverpool Echo has reported that the defender was undergoing his own specially-tailored fitness programme and has not necessarily suffered a setback in his return from injury and it remains to be seen if he will be available for the clash.
If the player fails to make the clash, the Reds are set to slot midfielder Fabinho in defense together with captain Jordan Henderson with the duo having been partnered in the club’s last clash against Southampton that ended in a loss.
Apart from Matip, Liverpool might miss the services of Naby Keita too who also missed the club’s Wednesday session.
